Hannah Ma | The People United

2015 | 2016 | 2017

The dance performance H.E.R.O.E.S. – for just one day, inspired by David Bowie’s song Heroes, is an intercultural project with artists from Germany, Syria, France, Spain and Luxemburg. Through dance / movement, the project questions the anthropological question of the “need” of war in human evolution. Flight, violence, desperation as well as love and longing turn into dance movements accompanied by the sound of the Arabian oud. Powerful and touching. (@ Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen/Fringe)

Hannah Mas work with The People United and the creation H.E.R.O.E.S were choosen to be published as part of „ Kunst in der Einwanderungsgesellschaft- Beiträge der Künste für das Zusammenleben in Vielfalt“- edited by Bertelsmann Stiftung and the German UNESCO commission

…Beautifully poetic pictures are created on the battlefield: the dead bag turns out to be a glittering star dust. Fate has ruled over life and death, the nightmare continues for the survivors. A dance performance that goes under the skin and receives an oppressive authenticity through the dancers from Syriah …. highly aesthetic, athletic, powerful and graceful at the same time, the ensemble draws the inner turmoil of the figures … Tina Brambrinck, Recklinghausen Zeitung/ about „H.E.R.O.E.S“ at Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen; 19.05.2016
